Professional Installation
Installation
Instructions
Complete guide for proper installation of ICR Solution flooring systems. Follow these steps to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Step 01
Surface Preparation
Proper surface preparation is the foundation of a durable flooring system. Never skip or rush this stage — adhesion failures are almost always caused by inadequate substrate prep.
Cleaning & Degreasing
- —Remove all dust, dirt, oil, and contaminants
- —Use appropriate degreasers for chemical residues
- —Sweep and vacuum thoroughly before proceeding
- —Allow surface to dry completely after cleaning
Mechanical Preparation
- —Shot blast or diamond grind the substrate
- —Achieve CSP 2–4 profile for proper adhesion
- —Remove all laitance, sealers, and coatings
- —Vacuum blast for confined or sensitive areas
Moisture Testing
- —Test moisture vapour emission rate (MVER)
- —MVER must be below 3 lb/1000 ft² / 24 h
- —Relative humidity: max 80% in slab
- —Use moisture barrier primer if limits are exceeded
Crack & Defect Repair
- —Route and clean all cracks before filling
- —Use ICR polyurethane joint filler for dynamic cracks
- —Repair spalls and bug holes with epoxy mortar
- —Allow all repairs to cure before priming
Pre-Application Checklist
Step 02
Application Process
Proper application technique is critical for achieving optimal performance and appearance of your flooring system. Each layer must be applied in the correct order with the correct timing.
Primer Application
Mixing
- —Mix components thoroughly for 3–5 minutes
- —Use a mechanical mixer for best results
- —Scrape sides and bottom of container
- —Ensure complete colour uniformity before applying
Application
- —Apply at recommended coverage rate
- —Use brush, roller, or spray equipment
- —Maintain wet edge during application
- —Allow proper cure time before next coat
Base Coat
Preparation
- —Ensure primer is fully cured
- —Check for defects or contamination
- —Verify environmental conditions
- —Prepare all tools and materials
Installation
- —Mix base coat components thoroughly
- —Apply in thin, even coats
- —Use proper application tools
- —Maintain consistent thickness
Top Coat Finishing
Timing
- —Apply after base coat cure window
- —Do not exceed maximum recoat time
- —Monitor environmental conditions
- —Plan for uninterrupted application
Final Application
- —Use recommended application tools
- —Maintain consistent film thickness
- —Avoid over-working the material
- —Allow full cure before traffic
